What the Holy scriptures say about “love or charity”. We probably have read the whole chapter 13 of the book of the Corinthians, then what if we were not focused on the undeniable teaching of what we’ve often missed and where we’re mixed up.
In 1 Corinthians 13, the chapter talks about love in the essence, its character and attributions. I like these three (3) first verses «Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.» 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 KJV
This topic is broad and rich in content but also difficult for those same narrow minded people attempting to (re)define love and trying to master it. For the simple fact that most of us refuse to adhere with the truth this chapter teaches. It makes no sense that someone would master love. Anyway, love is not violent and will not stand violence!
Also, the Bible clearly teaches us about love and love in action. This verse fits in correctly «For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.»John 3.16 KJV
That’s how God proved His love to humanity by sending His only Son Christ Jesus into this world to reconcile us with the Father. God Himself is love!
Or how could someone say, guys, look! Isn’t that great, I’ve found love! Now who can really find love? I’d be careful and will not anticipate because it is a sure thing that love always finds us. I’ll tell you why, it’s such a beautiful and natural thing. Love lives!
Let’s get back up to paragraph 1 and let us keep our eyes open for the remaining time we are going to spend on here. It goes without saying that nowadays we have a fair or small amount of people making it into the matrimonial life whereas a great deal of people are going into a divorce and every single day the Lord makes.
According to reports and statistics, records showed that registered number of divorcing people and families are way greater than those in a matrimonial relationship. This is happening everywhere around the globe not only in the United States but anywhere life happens to exist. So what must be or could have been the cause of so many divorcing couples? Christians families as well as unbelievers are all in the same maze.
It’s now on us and in our responsibilities to cherish, nurture, cultivate, mature and take care of our lives, relationships, marriages and our children. Then, now our marriages and relationships are falling apart and the families are being dismantled. Meantime, how many you are in control of what you say? Words are as sharp as a blade that cuts through our feelings when it hurts and we are hurt every day. Angry words are a major issue destroying marriages and making relationships suffer to even bleed. “Selfishness and Pride.”
Now how can we say we’ve found love when we fiance someone or got married within less than ninety (90) days, lots of us end up in a divorce?
After all are we still able to talk about that and pretend that you guys have worked hard to put aside your differences. That ain’t no love in there and we know that! The drawbacks always come and hurt even more than it destroys our children’s hope. In the long run, they’ll have to pay for our non sense and madness.
With a sense of humor, where on earth is love hiding? Love itself is full of its mysteries with and delightful stories and unexplained ones.
Our journey takes us to a well known story in the Bible about a patriarch’s son named Isaac. In the ancient days, a man in the Bible and his name was Abram (Abraham), God’s friend. As he aged, he desired his son to marry a woman from his relatives, his homeland. This story is way different from the kind of relationships and marriages we have today. Good news is God is still the same yesterday, today and forevermore.
That man, the servant took an oath that he would do according to his master, Abraham’s word to keep his son, Isaac out of this. (To not take Isaac to his native land).
Abraham made an interesting point in his statement, in verse 7 “The Lord God of heaven, which took me from my father’s house, and from the land of my kindred, and which spake unto me, and that sware unto me, saying, Unto thy seed will I give this land; he shall send his angel before thee, and thou shalt take a wife unto my son from thence.” Genesis 24:7 KJV.
Abraham saw something that the servant could not see and forbid him with a piece of advice. He foresaw “Obedience” and notice that the servant did not go find love for Abraham’s son, Isaac. He diligently went according to the order he received from his master, Abraham, on a mission to bringing a woman that would be a wife for his son.
With God Almighty’s help, it happened that everything went well. Isn’t that wonderful? Today’s life not that different, they say that life or some things in life are unpredictable. The beginning we know, however, the ending remains hidden to us nor can we control the future. this same passage of scripture still can get us started fresh something that would get the broken pieces back together.
Whether you’ve lived a life full of lie and deception or your relationship and marriage is on the brink of sinking perhaps you’re a perplexed man or woman who doesn’t know where to start or you’ve just kicked in a new matrimonial life or getting started with your life all over again resulting from a separation, a divorce or whatsoever. Yes, Faith will and can make things right again and better yet than before. Hope is found in God’s promise when we put our trust on HIM!
